Crunch Casino Staff - 12 Nov 2010

More than a year after closing down an Omaha Tribe will reopen in Iowa.

The casino will hold its reopening on December 15th and will sport 420 new coinless slot machines, according to Bill Walsh. Walsh is the head of a tribal subsidiary that will oversee Casino Omaha.

While the new slot machines will be available for play right away blackjack is not on the menu. In fact table games such as blackjack and roulette will not be avaialbe for customers until next year.

The root problem that plagued the casino, forcing it to close in June 2009,was poor business, but regulatory violations soon prompted the National Indian Gaming Commission to recommend the tribe close the doors. According to Walsh the casino, located about 50 miles north of Omaha as been authorized by the commission to reopen.
