Diamond Jo Worth Casino will not be adding or subtracting job positions for the foreseeable future, according to a casino spokesman.
Casino assistant general manager Scott Smith put to rest questions of expanding, saying explicitly that “We have no expansions planned in the very near future.”
Job roles currently held at the casino range from dealers to cooks, and the pay, while entry level, is greater than minimum wage and does include a benefits packages. “We have just under 500 employees here,” explained Smith, which include slot attendants, table game dealers, Diamond Club representatives, security guards, cocktail waitresses, bartenders and cooks.
Openings for jobs at the casino are not likely, and promotions traditionally come from within. However the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is looking at the creation of four possible casinos, which would mean plenty of new jobs.
