Dealers and Harrah’s Reach Contract Agreement

Crunch Casino Staff - 15 Nov 2010

Five year contract agreement reached on Sunday between dealers group and Harrah’s Entertainment.

The nearly 800 dealers who work at Caesars Atlantic City have entered into a tentative five year contract deal according to an announcement from Harrah’s on Sunday.

There were few details given out by Harrah’s about the deal with the United Auto Workers, the union which represents the dealers. While the first step of the contract has been completed the casino workers need to have a ratification vote on the proposed contract, something that they are expected to do this month

Accoding to Harrah's the deal they made with the dealers is similar to the deal recently made between Tropicana Atlantic City and the UAW in August. Like the Caesars dealers, who have been without an agreement since 2007, the agreement between Harrah’s and the UAW comes after more than three years of negotiations.

Don Marrandino, the president of Harrah's Eastern Division, said, "Since the dealers elected the UAW as their representative, we have respected our employees' right to choose representation while advocating for a relationship that enabled us to remain competitive and work together to serve our guests above all else. This agreement provides that framework."
